Hi!
We have an ongoing problem with adding apps to our company collection in managed google play. We can add a private app or create a web-app and it works perfectly fine. We can assign the app through Intune so our end users are able to use it. However, we've had an ongoing problem for over 6 months now where we cannot find the app when trying to add it to our collection. We can search for apps but they do not appear when we search, thus making us unable to add it to the collection which in turn makes it so our users cannot find the app directly in the managed play store and has to search for it themselves.
The issue happens with both private and web-apps and we've noticed that sometimes the app is searchable and we are able to add it to our collection after a varying time period. We've had apps that appears in a search after a few weeks, a few months and some haven't showed up at all since this problem started. I can't say for sure when it happened but it's been more than 6 months ago. Before we encountered this problem we've not had any problems like this at all.
Does anyone know how or why this might occur? What is it that makes some apps searchable after some time and some not? All help appreciated.
/Martin

Hi Martin,
Have you attempted to search for the application using its complete package name?
For instance, with the ChatGPT App:

Hi!
I did actually try that a few months ago and during that time this did not work. But I've exhausted so many options and decided to try again following your reply, and now I can find the apps for the collection with the package name!
Thank you for solving months of annoyance 🙂

Hi,
We had an issue earlier where end users could not see apps that were added to the Managed Play Store, except from when they searched for them.
After months with back and forth with Microsoft and Google where Google fixed a backend issue with the Play Store Microsoft also found an issue with the tenant where it was tagged with a "custom layout" on their end. I got no further explanation from MS to what it means but it did resolve all our Managed Play Store issues with regards to invisible apps
