Re: Disabling MAC Address Randomization for Non-Samsung Devices.
Thanks, I actually discovered this this past week while I was on-site and doing some testing/configs with the devices. However, I did note this behavior only seems to be for Version 11 which is what we are standardizing on at the moment. I had a hard time tracking down down some that were still on 9, or 10 that were showing a randomized MAC.5.9KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Disabling MAC Address Randomization for Non-Samsung Devices.
It would be ideal to do it post enrollment but if Honeywell has a way to do it during that may still suffice in the long run. We are not currently using any specific Honeywell staging tools though so I may need to dig into this.6.1KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Disabling MAC Address Randomization for Non-Samsung Devices.
That leaves me in a tight spot. As of now Honeywell does not have an Android 13 build for these devices and their current Android 12 build is broken and not usable in my testing. This ask comes from our Networking Team as they are trying to track down significant issues with packet drops and one thing they have noticed is the devices changing their MACs on a pretty fast interval possibly leading to connection drops.6.2KViews0likes1CommentDisabling MAC Address Randomization for Non-Samsung Devices.
Hi all, I am looking for a way to disable MAC Address randomization on some fully managed Honeywell CK65 devices that are running Android 9,10, or 11. These are fully managed and we use VMware WS1 as our EMM. I can't find any documentation for this outside of some Samsung specific documentation that involved the use of KSP. Appreciate any suggestions.6.2KViews0likes9CommentsRe: Recent Android change regarding Wifi configuration
I wonder if you are now looking at the same "chicken & egg" situation we are in now. How do we update all the existing devices with the new EAP-TLS config. -If you update the existing profile it will pull before push which leaves the devices with no connection. -If you push a new profile alongside the existing one it does not overwrite it unless someone manually re-applies the profile on the device side.31KViews0likes1CommentRe: Recent Android change regarding Wifi configuration
Are you also using WS1? Our Config pulls the identity cert directly from the CA so I don't think I have anyway to bundle the root in with that without our cryptography team modifying the cert template. My testing as of now is on Android 13 both on a Pixel and a Samsung Fold.33KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Recent Android change regarding Wifi configuration
We are using VMware Workspace One and I am not sure I see a way to do that in the Android Profile. You load your Certs under Credentials and then under WiFi you specify which is used for identity and which for Root. I have tried not specifying the Root but it made no difference.34KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Recent Android change regarding Wifi configuration
I am having the same issue, the issue for us also seems to run deeper. While I am able to fix the initial install of the Wi-Fi profile by adding the domain the certificates packaged with the profile are no longer installing correctly. As far as I can tell Android is not trusting the CA our Root comes from. In this state authentication to the EAP-TLS network fails and I am able to manually go around it on a device my manually telling the SSID config to not validate the CA cert...which of course defeats the purpose of a CA cert. Hoping there is a fix for this soon.34KViews0likes4CommentsRe: New to the community? Introduce yourself here...
Hello, my name is Michael, but I also go by Mike (everyone always asks what I prefer). I work within the corporate IT branch at Medtronic, primarily managing the technology stacks for all things MDM and MAM related, along with various other responsibilities that have fallen under the technologist role in recent times. I am based out of the US, and I have been "messing" around with Android since about 2011, when I got my first smartphone. My hobbies and interest are pretty varied, but some of them fall in line with my daily work. I love technology in general, and I do a lot of self-hosting and testing in my own home lab. I have a Proxmox server running on some recent AMD hardware that powers a number of VMs that control my home network, VPN services, VLANs, NAS, Home Automation, and more. I am also an avid gamer, motorcyclist, car enthusiast, gym goer, and of course, a bar hobbyist with a home-built bar and many books on making the perfect cocktails. Hard to pick only one piece of tech I couldn't live without, so I will narrow it down to 2. The Steam Deck has made being able to take gaming on the go so much more convenient, and I can't see myself without it these days and, of course, any number of my earbuds/headphones. I am a bit of an audiophile + techy, so I am constantly hunting for the best-sounding and featured earbuds/headsets available. I have been working with Android Enterprise since the very beginning going back to 2017/2018 before it fully launched and hope I can both learn and bring my own experiences to this community moving forward.12KViews5likes2Comments
