HELP! Enrollment Stuck on Choose Device Category

I need help. When enrolling a device on Intune, we are getting stuck on the Choose Device category page where it does not allow us to press the OK button.  We have two vendors supplying us phones and the issue is happening with both vendors (devices are Pixel 8s and 9s).

Please help!

Below is the screen where the OK button does not work.

Don't slap me for this but did you try (if possible and not forced portrait mode) to turn device into landscape view (so that the screen also changes) and check if the ok button then works?

      Hi Motajeff,

I recently had the exact same issue when enrolling and trying to pick a device category. I managed to get around it by plugging in a USB C docking station with a keyboard attached and just used the TAB key until it highlighted ok then pressed Space.

After the device has enrolled that part of the screen seems to work again fine so its only during this part of the setup as far as I can tell.

Which is pointing to the same issue i mean, as it seem the touch screen not working in that area of the button (correctly) bypassing it via external keyboard or rotating (if possible).

Many people in my company are experiencing a similar issue when enrolling their Google Pixel 8 Pro into MS Intune. They encounter problems with the DONE button not responding, no matter how many times they tap it. The only workaround is to turn the phone to a landscape position, wait for the "Rotate" icon to appear in the corner of the screen, and then rotate the screen to landscape mode. After that, they can select the DONE button. It's very frustrating.

    Hey motajeff and pvandroid

Thanks for sharing this. As Moombas said, I'm pleased at least the device can be turned and it still works - but I can see how annoying this must be.

    Couple of things:

    • Are you finding this is happening with a particular model? Can you share this with me please? I'd like to test this out on our end.
    • Have you raised a ticket with your EMM?

    Thanks so much,

    Lizzie

We're getting the same issue using Intune with Google Zero Touch - specifically with Pixel 9s - brand new out of the box. Unable to press OK when choosing device category.

Thanks for sharing GeorgeyBESA (and nice to meet you). Are you able to share a model number with me please?

I was experiencing the problem enrolling the Google Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 8 Pro in Microsoft Intune. I tried enrolling both phones again this morning and it appears the issue is no longer present.

It seems it might had something to do with the Intune enrollment UX. Even Microsoft had identified the issue and issued a fix on their end to resolve the issue
