Hello everyone,

As in most roles within a company if you are oversee an area you are likely to receive questions from colleagues and other employees.

This got me thinking, for those of you who are managing devices and security, what would you say are the most frequent types of questions you receive? Are there any questions you find difficult to answer or would like more information to provide them with? Or perhaps you very infrequently received question. 😀

As an example, perhaps you receive questions on why only certain apps are available in the work profile, how to update the device or can I use my own mobile?

Would love to hear from you, please reply in the comments below.

Thank you,

Lizzie

Hi Lizzie,

in my position i think it's hard to cover this because we have some support between (device) end users and those who manage the MDM (2-3 people) and so all managed Android devices in our company.

In final we are the "last line" of support and those where requests are taken place like

- want to deploy a new (web-)app

- can we enable feature X (for example BT)

Which are, i think, the most ones taking place regarding the devices. In addition there are requests MDM related like:

- need access to the system

- help needed in debugging etc. or

- automatic report creation

And i'll leave out here project related things because, in every starting project you have also always the same questions 😉

Super interesting @Moombas, thanks for sharing this. Do you feel that most of the asks are quite straightforward and they would need to contact you about actioning it? Or do you feel there are some questions that could be self-served?

Both, there are questions coming along where we already provided solutions but seem to be forgotten (so, normally expect no need to reach out to us anymore) and sometimes like app deployment or enable functionality requests need to take place at us because we are the ones handling the MDM and what it provides or restricts.

This also includes everything to the MDM to be investigated with the MDM provider (issues, feature requests etc.). And i think one of the funniest things was that we got told that we use the MDM in the most regarding usage of available functionaltys.

Well congratulations there @Moombas😀

Yeah, it makes sense with the app deployment side of things.

haha, I should have guessed you'd be prepared for this one @jasonbayton 😀

Do you see many repeated questions mentioned from employees or end-users?
