work profile pictures and contacts mix not work

hi,

i manage androind devices by Microsoft intune. From device restrictions policy "Data sharing between work and personal profiles " - setting i choose "No restrictions on sharing" but still contact's or pictures are separated and there is no way to share between profiles.  is there way to bypass that?

I did look into this for you:

Using Android 14, you can access the Personal Profiles Camera Gallery from the Work Profile by default. Having said this, this issue would need more troubleshooting as the app used for Contacts is unknown here.

On Intune, you can also try switching the setting to "Not configured" (on a test device) and check if the same behavior persists, and then set it back on to "Allow" and try to access the Pictures from the Personal Profile.

Before doing this though, it is best to report this to your EMM for further troubleshooting as they can look at the App Protection Policy that might be blocking** it and the logs to see why their configuration is not working as intended and recommend the best possible action.

Even with "No restrictions on sharing," Android's separation of work and personal profiles can still prevent direct sharing of contacts and pictures. For contacts, make sure Contact Sync is enabled in Intune. For pictures, you might need to use a cloud service (like OneDrive or Google Drive) to share media between profiles.
