Re: The customer reported to us a problem with contact SMS which is not displayed on the personal side (only the numbers are displayed but not the names of the contacts)
Hi Lizzie Happy New Year! Are you able to update the ETA for the app update with the fix? Thank you! Kind Regards Daniel1.3KViews1like6CommentsRe: The customer reported to us a problem with contact SMS which is not displayed on the personal side (only the numbers are displayed but not the names of the contacts)
Phone app and Google Messages App in side by side view. In the Phone app the work contacts are present, in Google Messages app it only shows the phone numbers. After clearing data, force stop the Google Messages app and open it up again it will work for 2 or 3 days. After that is is returning to this state again. Raised a case with MSFT as our MDM is Microsoft Intune yesterday. edit: My Google Message version is on "messages.android_20241029_00_RC01.phone_samsung_dynamic"2.4KViews0likes0CommentsRe: The customer reported to us a problem with contact SMS which is not displayed on the personal side (only the numbers are displayed but not the names of the contacts)
We have the exact same issue!! This is also in discussion in the Google Messages support community here: https://support.google.com/messages/thread/283903567/work-contacts-not-showing-names-in-messages-app?hl=en2.4KViews0likes0CommentsWork contacts not showing names in messages app
There is a thread in Google Message support community: https://support.google.com/messages/thread/283903567/work-contacts-not-showing-names-in-messages-app?hl=en We are experiencing the same issue! Is this issue already under investigation with Google? Raised a case with Microsoft as we use MSFT Intune as our MDM. Thanks Daniel283Views0likes0CommentsRe: Wifi profile on Android Enterprise via Intune
We use Dedicated devices (not Zebra however...) with SCEP and WiFi without any issues and along with Honeywell and Samsung OEMconfig. We are using a SCEP certificate configuration with Certificate type = "Device", not "User" Did you try to change that value into "Device" already?935Views0likes0CommentsRe: [Enhancement Request] Allow push notifications during OOBE setup process
Thanks Lizzie just to add: we raised a feature request with Microsoft support about a year ago and the declined and stated that they can't fix that because it is an Android system behavior. They officially stating the MFA limitations on their docs. All the way down on this page: Require multifactor authentication for Intune device enrollment - Microsoft Intune | Microsoft Learn2.2KViews0likes0CommentsRe: [Enhancement Request] Allow push notifications during OOBE setup process
Same here, we struggle with some users complaining about the MFA process during OOBE because they select receive code via SMS or phone call but this will fail because the authentication can never be completed during setup. So users need to setup different ways, most likely a second device has to be involved!2.3KViews1like0CommentsGlobal contact lookup from system dialer via Outlook App
Hi everyone, I just trying to find out whether other Android Enterprise users/admins are struggeling with the same issue than we do. Our pain point is the user experience on making phone calls to (remote) contacts from an Android Enterprise device. Today, you can search personal and company / work profile contacts if they are saved to the local contact databases on the device. BUT you have to switch to another app (in our case MS Outlook) to search for remote contacts if you did not save/export the contact to the local contacts database. My DCR with MS is about a feature implementation into MS Outlook app to answer search requests for contacts from the dialer app directly into GAL. As far as I can see in the developer API of Android Enterprise this should be possible: Work profile contacts | Android Developers And: I did see this thing working on Android Enterprise enrolled devices on Google workspace! Are other admins thinking about this as well? Can we use the community to put pressure on Microsoft to make this a feature of Outlook? (if technically possible for sure!)1KViews1like2CommentsRe: Android Enterprise BYOD Wifi Profile - disable auto-connect not working
Hi pkiman on our side we had the issue the other way around. Our devices did not connect automatically to our hidden EAP-TLS wifi network and we raised a case with MS. We then were pointed to the case that Intune Admin UI does not have an UI element for "connectAutomatically". We were advised to change a value in the JSON representation of the WiFi profile via Graph API. Maybe you can look into the Graph API values either by using the developer tools when navigating through the Intune Admin Portal or by making the GET calls by yourself. ... stripped values from our profiles: "connectAutomatically": true, "connectWhenNetworkNameIsHidden": true, "wiFiSecurityType": "wpaEnterprise", "eapType": "eapTls", ...2.2KViews1like0CommentsRe: Blocked USB file transfer
No I did not change values by using graph api. I wondered why test devices were able to use usb file transfer but production devices did stop working. I used Graph API to compare the values in the graph api response because the admin UI showed „not configured“ for both. But the results on the devices differed. After the dummy edit they values were the same and functionality came back on the devices so I closed our case with MS.20KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Blocked USB file transfer
Yes but no! 😉 IMHO: it does not explain why the policy value in the json data of Intune falls to "null" values instead of true. The usb file transfer has been enabled for years. A test policy on the same Intune tenant stated "true" values, the production policy was configured to "null" which defaults to DISALLOW_USB_DATA_TRANSFER as you have noted in your documentation. We did not change any values in the Intune admin UI, just hit "edit" and then "save".21KViews0likes1CommentRe: Blocked USB file transfer
Lizzie Thank you! We were able to solve this issue by re-saving the config with the same values. We are using Microsoft Intune as our EMM, maybe this is only related to Intune! We found out that the policy values we grabbed by MS Graph API differed ("null" value instead of "true/false"). After our dummy edit the values changed from "null" to true/false and the Android restriction has been updated after the update and USB file transfer was restored on our device fleet. Maybe this helps!21KViews1like13CommentsBlocked USB file transfer
We are struggling with some user reports about blocked USB file transfer functionality on their Samsung A52 / A54 devices enrolled with corporate-owned work profile. Microsoft released a blog post about this issue here. Known Issue: Some management settings become permanent on Android 14 - Microsoft Community Hub We stumbled across the one-time hint about "do not upgrade non-Samsung devices to Android 14" in the advisory. Did not find any other information whether Samsung is also affected or not, but as we only have Samsung as corporate devices this seems also to apply to Samsung devices. After factory resetting the device and a fresh enrollment the USB file transfer is working as expected / configured! *15th March: please note: this post has been moved and been made into a new topic and new titleSolved21KViews0likes21CommentsRe: Blocked USB file transfer
Device Policy App on an affected device (A54): deviceConnectivityManagement: {"usbDataAccess": "USB_DATA_ACCESS_UNSPECIFIED"} On my factory reseted and fresh enrolled device (A54): deviceConnectivityManagement: {"usbDataAccess": "ALLOW_USB_DATA_TRANSFER"} 100% sure it is the same policy and groups for those two devices...21KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Blocked USB file transfer
😮 uh interesting... it's hard to investigate as i can't reproduce the issue on my device after factory reset but users are complaining about the missing functionality. All of them told us that they have used the usb file transfer for their photos before and sometime in between this has stopped working. Ugly situation... "to be able to file transfer your photos again, you have to factory reset your device. please be aware your photos will be lost after the reset" 🤔21KViews0likes0Comments
