Re: Managed Google Play private app not available on Corporate-owned devices with work profile
hi jason, group assignments are set to "Available for enrolled devices" without any filters. pretty straight forward. i have on my table 2 devices enrolled with my user (im allowed to the app, because im member of one assigned group) BYOD -> App is visible COPE -> App is not visible and not searchable36Views0likes0CommentsManaged Google Play private app not available on Corporate-owned devices with work profile
Hi community, I'm encountering a strange issue and could use some guidance. A Google developer account released an app to Managed Google Play (so it's automatically private and not available on the public store) and entered our organization ID in the appropriate field. We can find the app on the iframe in our MDM (Microsoft Intune in this case), select it, and assign it to groups. Everything looks good: BYOD deployments (Personally-owned devices with work profiles) can install the app from the Managed Google Play store. However, COPE devices (Corporate-owned devices with work profiles) cannot search for it, and it's also not visible in the app collections we've created. Could there be a setting in the Google developer account's store listing that prevents availability for COPE devices? I've exhausted all options in Intune, including multiple store syncs, with no success. Intune is telling me, that the App is available to install on the specific COPE devices, but it does simply no appear. The only thing left to check is the Google developer account that released the app for us. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any hints or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Hi Jason, Thank you for the prompt response. I have a quick question to ensure my understanding is correct: "...or uploading apps to a developer account not directly linked to a bind, but shared as private apps instead." Bind A = old EMM Bind B = new EMM We have uploaded several private apps to "Bind A" and shared these apps with "Bind B" to make them available on the other managed Play Store, which works well. (Sharing process: Console Bind A -> Setup -> Advanced settings -> Managed Google Play -> entered Organisation ID from Bind B) Our current plan is to create new package IDs and upload them to our Developer Account, then share them again via Advanced settings in Managed Google Play with Bind B. If I understood you correctly, we can forego creating new package IDs and simply re-upload using the current package IDs? What would be the behavior on the devices? I assume there's no way to avoid uninstalling and reinstalling the apps, correct? Ultimately, it appears that publishing in-house apps directly through a developer account, rather than using an iFrame in the EMM system, is the best approach. This method seems simpler for transitioning into a system. Thank you for your time! Walter569Views0likes0CommentsRe: Android Auto with COPE
the only solution right now is, to pair the phone directly with bluetooth to the car itself. most car's headunits have a built-in telephonebook where contacts get downloaded - here, you can find work profile contacts. this settings should be Enabled for this:1.1KViews0likes0Commentsmanaged google play account, disconnect MDM
Dear Community, We are planning to discontinue our Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution, which is connected to a managed Google Play account. We have uploaded several private applications that appear to be permanently locked to this account. For our new MDM solution, we created a new account because it was not possible to link two MDM solutions to a single account. Additionally, transferring private applications between two Managed Google Play accounts seems to be impossible. We have shared our private applications via the Google Play Console with the new Account ID, which is functioning properly. My question is: Will our account be suspended or retired if we disconnect the MDM solution? Will we still have direct access to the console to manage the private applications afterward? Thank you for your assistance in this matter. Best regards, Walter621Views1like2CommentsRe: Intune COPE Device - Google Calendar crashes
ReeceK I've had contact with Samsung Enterprise Support, they did an analysis of Samsung DumpState Logging. When there is no Google Account added to the Device, Google Calendar starts immediately the Sign-In Process for logging in into a personal Google Account - Personal Google Accounts are of course blocked on Work Profile side. I'm pretty sure, it has of course also something to do with Intune, but is there a way to prevent the Google Sign-In Process, when there are already "local" Calendars available? It seems, you cannot use Google Calendar without a Google Account...?5.1KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Intune COPE Device - Google Calendar crashes

serval reasons... -) people want to have a "Week" view, Outlook just provides 3-Day View (please, dont ask, you know, there are always some special ppl) -) connect personal calendar -> work calender together -> this is it seems broken with outlook at the moment. outlook just crashes. we wanted to mitigate this with google calendar.5.6KViews0likes0CommentsAndroid COPE, Google Calendar "Action not allowed"
Dear Community, we wanted to use Google Calendar in Combination with Outlook Mobile (Sync Calendar) with Intune. Unfortunately, we are facing the issue, that Google Calendar does not start on our COPE enrollments. After setting permissions to Contacts, Calendar and Notifications we see just for a second the calendar, but then the message pops up "Action not allowed". On our BYOD enrollments there are no problems. I guess, this has something to do with Intune (App), but i cannot nail it down what the issue could be. It seems Company Portal App is doing something different, because why it's working for BYOD Devices? I was hoping that someone else here had the same issue with a possible fix. Maybe Google calendar wants to add a Google Account, which is of course blocked at work profile level... Thanks!Solved1.9KViews0likes3Comments
