Hi Guys. I am currently working on getting some devices for our warehouse enrolled into Intune. We already have our stuff setup, and plenty of phones enrolled.
But for some reason, it seems like there is a disconnect somewhere between Intune and Managed Google play store (Yet not wholly). I can sync apps down, and enforce them onto the phone and they will show up. They will also show up in the google play store. The problem lies with the setting "Allow access to all apps in google play store". When this setting is set to not configured, you should not be able to see the regular app store but only the apps published by your IT Admins.
I have tested this on both Corporate owned Work Profile and Corporate owned Fully managed device. Same thing happens. I have also tested on a demo tenant I set up where it works perfectly fine.
First 2 pictures are from real tenant, the "bug". Next 4 are from Demo tenant where it is working
I appreciate all the help I can get, since I have been in contact with Microsoft already and they just asked me to contact google after multiple hours of troubleshooting.
Cheers guys,
Niels

Hi Niels,
I'm a bit confused that Microsoft told you to contact Google as this very looks like an issue between Intune (Microsoft) and Managed Google Playstore (Google). So in my opinion Microsoft should contact Google themselves to troubleshoot this.

Hello @NielsStilling,
Great to meet you.
I wonder, have you tried clearing your cache to see if this helps at all?

Hi there,
Just to make sure, you haven't added an additional Google account to the device where it's not working as intended by chance? If so, this is expected behaviour but AMAPI should automatically remove any unapproved apps if your store is set to whitelist.
If you're only using the configured managed Google Play account on the device generated by intune, and with play store mode on whitelist (not allowing all app access), this will be a Microsoft bug.
@Lizzie you know what vendor support teams are like, perhaps if it's definitely not as intended you can raise it with MS product and link them here?

Hi guys, just a quick update on the issue.
There was a bug with an old configuration profile, which allowed all apps. It should have been excluded from the new policies. Because of this, I was not able to see the profile as applied in "Device Configuration".
I tried disabling this profile, and it resolved in it working perfectly fine!
Thanks for the support.
Best regards,
Niels
