How to prevent users from disabling global proxy settings on fully managed Android devices?
I develop a Custom DPC application for fully managed devices, and I am planning to configure global proxy settings for Android devices through our EMM Console. I want to restrict disabling these proxy settings, but I am unsure how to implement this restriction. I have reviewed the UserManager and DevicePolicyManager documentation but could not find any specific settings or policies to prevent users from modifying or disabling proxy configurations. Would anyone happen to know how to implement the restrictions that would prevent users from disabling proxy settings on fully managed Android devices? Thank you in advance for your help.YutaSaito13 hours agoLevel 1.5: Cupcake60Views0likes1CommentREALLY NEED HELP
I accidentally locked myself out of my Samsung 24 Ultra cell phone I just bought last September. I have been told, even by Samsung CEO Rep, they can't get me back in my phone so I can use what I paid for. I sent an email to the head CEO of Google and got no response. Great customer service there, Bud. I know the FBI and other law enforcement agencies get in people's phones after they're dead or if it's some criminal's phone. I'm looking for a company I can hire, or an individual I can hire, to get my irreplaceable information off this phone along with all my gallery. I absolutely will not factory reset this phone and lose all my precious data. I would be very grateful for any suggestions. Thank you. A customer service toll free number or phone number for Android would also be nice.PO72yol13 hours agoLevel 1.5: Cupcake20Views0likes3CommentsThe customer reported to us a problem with contact SMS which is not displayed on the personal side (only the numbers are displayed but not the names of the contacts)
The customer reported an issue to us: on the personal part of his phones, business contacts are no longer displayed across his entire fleet when users receive SMS from business and personal contacts (only numbers appear, without contact names). By default, Samsung phones use the rich Google Messages application, as well as Textra, which are both impacted. This issue does not occur with Samsung's SMS application. We have tested on our side (Orange), and business contacts and numbers are displayed on the personal part. We have also tested with the customer, but it works randomly. Please take the necessary action.ROVI15 hours agoLevel 1.5: Cupcake4KViews0likes31CommentsHow to add, update, and remove pinned shortcuts as a Device Owner without user interaction?
I am developing an MDM (Mobile Device Management) application and need to manage pinned shortcuts programmatically as a Device Owner. Currently, I can add, update, and remove pinned shortcuts only with user interaction using ShortcutManager. However, I need to perform these operations silently (without user confirmation) since my app runs as a Device Owner. I checked the Device Policy API and Android Management API, but I couldn’t find any specific policy or method for managing pinned shortcuts as a Device Owner. I attempted to use ShortcutManager#requestPinShortcut(), but it still requires user confirmation. I reviewed the Android Enterprise Documentation but found no mention of pinned shortcuts management for Device Owners. Is there any hidden API or specific Device Policy setting that allows a Device Owner to manage pinned shortcuts without user interaction? If not, is there any alternative approach to achieving this functionality programmatically? Hi all, I’m currently experiencing an issue while setting up Intune MDM on Android devices related to restricting copy and paste to unmanaged apps. Specifically, the issue occurs when users copy text from the Teams app and try to paste within teams app. Here's what happens: After copying text, a message "Your organisation's data cannot be pasted here" immediately appears in the clipboard hud. The copied data seems blocked from being viewed, as the error message appears even before a paste attempt. Despite this, users can manually paste the copied content by long-pressing or selecting "Paste" from the text box. However, when trying to use the "paste from clipboard" feature, the warning message above is pasted instead of the copied content. We’ve set the Intune policy to allow copy/paste within managed apps, but the clipboard interaction seems to be problematic, especially with Gboard. It appears that Gboard, possibly due to Android 13 and 14’s Clipboard Editor, is treated as an unmanaged app, causing Intune’s data protection policies to block its access to the clipboard in a read-only state. Just to clarify: I want users to be able to copy and paste txt within managed apps only. So the allowed behavior of pasting with long press is fine, but I want to get rid of the block that we're getting. Here’s what we’ve tried: Added various exclusions to the Intune policy, including Gboard, Clipboard Editor, and other related apps (full list below), but the issue persists. Testing different configurations hasn’t led to a final solution, and there seems to be limited documentation specifically addressing this clipboard component in relation to Intune's data policies. We’ve escalated the issue internally but wanted to see if anyone in the community has encountered a similar problem or found a solution. Here’s the list of exclusions we’ve already added to the policy: Clipboard: com.android.clipboard SMS: com.google.android.apps.messaging SMS: com.android.mms SMS: com.samsung.android.messaging Native phone app: com.android.phone Google Play Store: com.android.vending Android system settings: com.android.providers.settings Android system settings: com.android.settings Google Maps: com.google.android.apps.maps Gboard: com.google.android.inputmethod.english Samsung: com.sec.android.inputmethod Gboard: com.google.android.inputmethod.latin Gboard: com.google.android.apps.inputmethod.hindi Gboard: com.google.android.inputmethod.pinyin Gboard: com.google.android.inputmethod.japanese Gboard: com.google.android.inputmethod.korean Gboard: com.google.android.apps.handwriting.ime Gboard: com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox Gboard: com.samsung.android.svoiceime Gboard: com.samsung.android.honeyboard Gboard: com.android.inputmethod.latin Teams app: com.microsoft.teams Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! This is my first time posting so apologies if this is the wrong space.FreckledCipher18 hours agoLevel 1.5: Cupcake1.3KViews3likes3CommentsRenaming Managed Google Play Organization
Hello, we built our Managed Google Play connector in Intune like three years ago with our company name as organization name. Meanwhile our company name as slightly changed and since the company name is shown on all corporate-owned android devices lock screen, we have a high interest in changing that to the correct name. Unfortunately I can not find any way to change that company name. I can only delete that organization. I do not find a way to contact Google directly for that issue, so that is why I ended up here. So here are the questions: What exactly happens to our devices, if we disconnect and delete the organization and reconnect to a new organization with correct name? All devices will reset? All apps will be gone? Are there other ways to configure what is shown on the lockscreen? Maybe it is possible to disable the display of the company name on the lockscreen completely? Or is there a way to contact Google to change that name for us? Any help appreciated. 😎 RegardsRE-RITS-TS20 hours agoLevel 1.6: Donut11KViews2likes32CommentsNeed help : Supported devices for android enterprise
Hi, I am currently using android phone(galaxy note 8, android 9) to enroll company portal. Before 01/2025, my company was Western Digital, and I could use company portal including bunch of android apps such as outlook. However, my company was separated to Sandisk, and I cannot use company portal after that. Is there any opinion why my phone cannot install company portal? When I try to use Microsoft intune, it always stops at the last stage of setting work profile. It says the device setting should be changed except the information; which device setting I should change to be fit for the company portal. Please give me any advice to make me available to use company portal. Or did android stopped supporting google enterprise old phones just like mine?Ama20 hours agoNew member10Views0likes1CommentIntune Migrate EMM Bind Account to Workspace for Additional Admins
I have a customer as follows: EMM is Intune EMM Bind account is a standard Gmail account, but uses their corporate email domain. This Gmail account was setup before they became a Google Workspace customer They now also use GWS for ChromeOS management If I try to add a Google Managed Play admin using their corporate email domain, then I get a message telling me that G-Suite accounts can not be used. How do we migrate their existing @corporatedomain.com Bind account to a GWS account so that it can be properly managed?sambenenge21 hours agoLevel 1.5: Cupcake31Views0likes3CommentsWhy is the Google Play organization ID different depending on where you look?
If you didn't see my other post Private app package name already in use I've asked one of our software vendors to make one of their private apps available to my organization. To prepare for that, I went to gather our organization ID and noticed that it's different depending on where I look. From the Managed Google Play Console: https://play.google.com/work/adminsettings From the Managed Google Play iframe in Microsoft Intune: I know it doesn't mean much with the IDs blacked out but just wanted to show you where exactly I was looking. In the first instance, I'm logged into the same Google account I used to connect Intune with Google Play. Any ideas why the organization IDs would be different? I am wondering which ID to give them.
