Re: (COPE) Hide app in work profile
Thanks for the suggestions. They have indeed tested on 2 of our products, the policies work on our old model running Android 12 but don't work on our newer model on Android 14 Ivanti uses this API: https://developer.android.com/reference/android/app/admin/DevicePolicyManager#setApplicationHidden(android.content.ComponentName,%20java.lang.String,%20boolean)25Views0likes2CommentsRe: (COPE) Hide app in work profile
For 1 yes, if they don't use this configuration then all's good, the work profile is empty after enrollment, but the customer needs to keep this for other purpose Not sure for 2, will ask the customer if they see a notification when they use the hide app API20Views0likes1Comment(COPE) Hide app in work profile
Hello, I have a small case I'd like to submit to the community for help please. A customer use Mobile Iron, and use Zero Touch to enroll our Android 14 products. In their DPC extras, they enabled the system apps and need to keep that way: "android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_LEAVE_ALL_SYSTEM_APPS_ENABLED":true, "android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_ADMIN_EXTRAS_BUNDLE":{ "workProfileEnabled": true, "quickStart":"true" } Now after the device is enrolled, the Work profile is filled with bunch of apps including unwanted ones like Netflix, Adobe, YT kids, ... From Mobile Iron, they want to hide/disable some apps, using "setApplicationHidden" but it doesn't work. At OEM side, we tested this API with the Test DPC and it works properly. My thinking was that as we are in COPE, and the apps that the customer wants to remove are from the Personal space, then this is not working as the MDM cannot interact with Personal space content. Does this make sense? Are there a way to hide the unwanted apps from the Work profile, despite having "leave all system apps" enabled from the ZT DPC extras? Anyone has any suggestions please? Hello, I have the same problem with a customer, they have 403 error when trying to access the ZT customer portal. The email address used is the correct one, and they have received an email from Google to setup their ZT customer configurations. Their emails are managed also from admin.google.com and they granted all the different roles to the email account, but still it shows 403 error. Does anyone knows what other reasons can block the proper permission to access the ZT customer portal please? Thanks!144Views0likes2CommentsRe: Google workspace enrolled devices, enable applications in work profile
Thanks Michael and Moombas. It's a fairly small app, that only has a Paid version on Playstore, there is no login page and not sure if there is a licensing mechanism. There is no Free version that can be upgraded to Premium version through a license. So if the device in using a different configuration method that doesn't have a separation between Personal and Work profile, then it should be fine to directly have access to all preloaded content on the device? If we are in COBO or COSU where the device is dedicated to corporate usage, then will it be possible to directly use the pre-installed app in the device rather than needing to go through Playstore? Thanks!2.5KViews0likes1CommentRe: Google workspace enrolled devices, enable applications in work profile
Hi Michael, Our customer tried following the guide, but they are not able to directly "enable" the application already installed on the device, but rather it directs to Google Playstore. The issue is that those are paid applications, and the installed applications have a license already but if it redirects to the Playstore, then it will not recognize the license and ask for payment. Normally you don't need to change often your Zero Touch configuration, its purpose is to link your ZT account to your MDM account for the enrollment. Then after the device is enrolled, you manage your devices from your MDM console2.1KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Trouble with applying configuration profiles
You need to remove the devices, and re-add them then. If you have lots of devices and use a sheet, you put "0" in the customer field for all the lines then run the file, then put again your customer ID and run the file. You'll need to ask your ZT reseller for help to do it2.1KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Trouble with applying configuration profiles
I'm thinking about a possibility that may cause this. When provisioning devices to a Customer ZT account, you have to follow this rule: use IMEI if the device has 3/4/5G connectivity or use SN if the device is WiFi only. Otherwise the devices will appear in the list but won't receive the configuration. On Lenovo tablets, in the end of the model name, if you see "FU" = WiFi only and if you see "XU" = LTE so if it's a LTE device, you must use IMEI and not SN2.2KViews0likes6CommentsRe: Android device is getting too Hot
Is it a 5G device? Is it better if you force the device in 4G or WiFi only? Have you updated your system to the latest available software? Is it a newly purchased device, or does this issue happened suddenly after x days/months of usage? Have you altered the system settings?1.7KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Google workspace enrolled devices, enable applications in work profile
Thanks Moombas. So basically we need to change the management type to a more strict one like COPE or COBO so there is no private Personal space anymore? Do you know if Google Workspace device management can support all the management types? Thanks!2.8KViews0likes1CommentGoogle workspace enrolled devices, enable applications in work profile
